Affordable Green Home Tour
Saturday, Sept 20, 8:30am - 2pm

Is it possible to build or retrofit your home to have high environmental performance standards without spending an arm and both legs? We will tour homes that meet these environmental and economic standards with Liz Robinson from The Energy Coordinating Agency. ECA is a private, non-profit corporation which helps people conserve energy and works to develop a sustainable and equitable energy future for the region.  On this tour we will visit row homes that are approaching Zero Energy. They are being retrofitted to reduce their energy consumption by 70 to 80% and they use on-site solar thermal energy.  We will also visit the largest Energy Star Homes development in the city:  Philadelphia Housing Authority’s Ludlow Homes. Our last stop will be a twin home which generates more solar photovoltaic electricity than it uses, and also heats its water with the sun.

$45 includes muffins and coffee, transportation, discussion,
tax and gratuity. Advance payment required. Cancellations can be made up to 24 hours before event. Rain or Shine.
