In his new book, Obama’s Challenge: America’s Economic Crisis and the Power of a Transformative Presidency, Robert Kuttner explains what a President Obama must do to solve America’s economic crisis—the gravest since the Great Depression—and, in the process, become a truly transformative leader. As “Obama’s Challenge” eloquently explains, transformative presidents have been leaders who rose to greatness in moments of extreme crisis, and who took themselves and the Republic to places that seemed impossible—Lincoln, Roosevelt, and the LBJ of the civil rights era. Kuttner is known for his acclaimed economic journalism as well as being foundering co-editor of The American Prospect and a Distinguished Senior Fellow of the think tank Demos. He has written eight books, including The Squandering of America: How the Failure of Our Politics Undermines Our Prosperity.
Table Talks at 6pm include a three course dinner, followed by a speaker and discussion from 7:30-9pm. $38/person includes tax & gratuity. Reservations with advance payment required by giving a credit card number over the phone or sending a check. Senior citizens (over 65) and full time students: $32 with advance notification. Student stand-by: Full-time students can call between 4 - 5:30pm the day of the event for free discussion at 7:30 (space permitting). Single reservations are welcome, and seated at group tables.
